Ebenezer Emmons (May 16, 1799 October 1, 1863), was an American geologist with an interest in geology and fossils. He did work for Geological Survey of the State of New York and produced a series of volumes on the Natural History of New York (1848).
He was a pioneer whose accomplishments include the naming of the Adirondack Mountains in New York, the first ascent of Mount Marcy, the first discoverer of primordial fauna in any country.
