Shmuel Katz (August 18, 1926 – March 26, 2010), Israeli artist, illustrator, and cartoonist. A Holocaust survivor and postwar immigrant to Mandate Palestine via the detention camps on Cyprus, he figured prominently in Israeli illustration and newspaper cartooning, widely exhibiting and publishing his drawings and paintings at home and abroad, for which he won numerous local and international awards. His sketches and watercolors are known for their sprightly lines and touches of humor. Wikipedia
