This is a hand-colored copper plate engraving from A Natural History of Uncommon Birds.

Published 1743-1751.
Engraved and hand-colored by George Edwards generally acknowledged as the Father of British ornithology.

This original is printed on quarto-sized laid paper. Chain line is evident. Print has strong plate marks. Print is in VG condition with some water spots on the left side. Overall it is very presentable and attractive well worthy of hanging for display.

Sheet measures 11 1/2" H by 9 1/4" W.
Plate mark measures 9 1/8" H by 7 1/4” W.
