This is an original engraving from 1892 titled: “Columbus in Chains Refusing to be Released.” Print notation reads: “Entered according to the Act of Congress in the year 1892 by M. F. Tobin in the office of the librarian Congress of Washington.”
Print has not been examined out of frame but is in good condition for its age with slight toning throughout. Half inch loss present in mid-right margin area of the print.
Engraving has been framed under glass into antique ornate wood gilt frame. There is some gilt loss to the frame especially to corners and upper mid-section.
Framed this piece measures c. WxHxD - 30 1/4 x 26 1/4 x 3 inches and weighs 8.5 lbs. Visible portion of the print measures c. WxH - 23 x 19 1/2 inches.
