19th century antique brass candelabra with adjustable arms and height adjustment. Two of the blades are stamped "PAT D JULY 31 1883". This large impressive piece with 7 taper candles holders with 6 removable bobeches. The main post is also adjustable. The candelabra weighs 8 lbs 8 oz and stands 20 1/2 inch tall with the height adjustment extended and lowers to 17 3/4 inch tall. The arms measure 26 inches fully extended. The base is 6 7/8 inch in diameter. Minor discoloration and surface scratches are part of the untouched patina. One top pin or bolt is missing yet fully functional. Menorahs are one of the oldest symbols of the Jewish faith. The seventh-branched once were mostly used in Temples. The kohanim lit the menorah in the sanctuary every evening and cleaned it out every morning replacing the wicks and putting fresh olive oil into the cups.
