Vintage Black Carpenters Industrial Toolbox c.1940’s

439

This is fantastic example of Vintage Black Carpenter's Toolbox or Utility Chest with fold-down sides dated circa WWII or possibly even WWI time frame.

Both sides fold open to reveal a long and narrow top tray that slides out. Tray is divided into three compartments of different size. Solid carrying strap is attached to both sides of the toolbox for easy lifting and shoulder carrying. Hinges and latches are made of iron and work well. Metal corners reinforce the toolbox and protect from damage. Toolbox is made of wood that has been stained black.

Overall in good condition with wear consistent with age and use. A nice patina to the paint with nicks and scratches.

Toolbox measures approx. 32 inches in length; 10 1/2 inches wide and is 13 inches tall. It weighs 19 lbs.
